Voters confused over redistribution of polling units

Must Read

From Fred Ezeh, Abuja

The recent decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to distribute voters has caused some mild confusion among voters.

In some polling units in Karu, Nyanya, Kurudu, Jikwoyi, all in Abuja, voters could not settle down early as they would told that the polling unit where they hitherto vote has been changed and that had caused some stress for them.

A voter Peter said he has been to three voting units in search of his name. “I went to the polling located at CBN junction in Karu where I used to vote but was told that my unit has changed.

“They kept directing me to different locations. Unfortunately, I was meeting the wrong persons who have been directing me wrongly.”

Another voter who identified herself as Pastor Mrs. also complained about the same challenges. “I am hopeful that I ll locate the new unit. I won’t relent until I cast my vote.”

Meanwhile, a labour party agent at polling unit 013, David, complained about the efficiency of the BVAS. “The presiding officer said she has contacted the officials to come attend to them on the matter. We are waiting but we don’t know the time frame for their coming.”
