From Molly Kilete, Abuja

There is pandemonium at the collation center at Karshi in the Federal Capital territory over shortage of ballot papers for the presidential elections.

A visit to the collation center located at the FCT satellite Towns Development Department showed that virtually all the had-hoc staff comprising members of the National Youth Service Corps, polling officers and other officials slept at the secretariat with the aim of starting their job early.

However as at 9;07, electoral officers were still battling to provide sufficient voting materials for the polling officers.

Some of the polling officers who spoke to our correspondents said they have over 400, voters on their voters registers but were given only between 30-45, ballot papers which they outrightly rejected.

They also complained of the issue of payment saying they were shortchanged by the head of the collation center whom they said paid them 2,000, instead of the agreed amount of N2,500.

They said they had to sleep overnight at the secretariat and got water from the nearby Karshi General hospital to bath this morning to start their duties.

Already they are beginning to get frustrated as they said the voting process may run into the night
