Wanted Cult kingpin, Gift David Okpara, alias 2 Baba, has reportedly killed five people in his Odiemerenyi community of Ahoada-East local government area of Rivers State.

The cult kingpin and members of his gang allegedly gunned down the five people in the early hours of Sunday Monday in the community, PM NEWS gathered.

Those allegedly killed by the 2 Baba gang have been identified as Charles Osu, Ogbobula Ejee, Eeje Idaowukwo and two other persons

According to sources, 2 Baba who has a total bounty of N101 million placed on his head by Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the Nigeria Police missed his main target, which was a police Patrol van before he descended and killed the five people at about 1 a.m. on Sunday.

The Iceland cult gang leader who is wanted for the murder of SP Bako Angbashim, the late Divisional Police Officer, DPO, of Ahoada-East, according to sources, has vowed that he will continue random killings in his natives of the Community until his sponsors and sympathizers who are being detained by the police are set free.

A native of the community who pleaded anonymity told our reporter that the 2 Baba gang members invaded the community at about 1 a.m. on Sunday.

He said two of his brothers and another person in his compound were among those killed.

He told our reporter that five people were killed in the community.

He added that aside from demand for the release of his sponsors and sympathizers, the chiefs arrested in the community by the police because of his activities must also be released.

He therefore urged the Rivers State Government and the security agencies to intensify efforts to arrest the wanted cultists as people in the community are now living in fear.

Another native of the community said the gang leader claimed that those killed were police informants.

Meanwhile, it was gathered that two members of the 2 Baba gang were killed in an exchange of gunfire with operatives of the Ahoada Police Division who responded to a distress call by the community.

In response to inquiries by journalists the Spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko simply said, “I will get back to you, please, for full details”.

Recall that Governor Fubara had suspended the traditional ruler of the cult kingpin’s community, King Eze Cassidy Ikegbidi, over ‘complicity” in the gruesome killing of the Ahoada DPO.

The Governor accused the traditional ruler of ceding control of his territory to the notorious criminal gang led by 2 Baba.

The Governor also placed an N100,000,000 bounty on the head of the gang leader while promising to bring the murderers of the DPO to book.

The DPO was murdered on the evening of 8th September 2023 by the 2-Baba and his criminal gang.

The gang has been blamed for the resurgence of violent crimes, including kidnapping and terrorism in Ahoada East Local Government Area.

The gang had allegedly lured SP Bako Angbashim to their hideout with the promise that they were ready to denounce cultism and surrender for amnesty before the police officer was attacked and killed.

The fallen gallant officer who had won many awards for his onslaught against criminals was redeployed from Bori Division to Ahoada Division a few months before his death to confront the rampaging cult gangs in the local government.
