Lagos butchers pray for Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu

The Director General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Committee for Lagos State, Ganiyu Solomon, has said the ruling party is lucky to have sellable candidates contesting on its platform ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

He said this during a special prayer organised by the Lagos State Butchers Association for the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu; the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; and other candidates in the party held in the state on Sunday.

He said, “If you see part of our efforts in the last few days, you will be more than convinced that we have chosen sellable candidates from Asiwaju up to Sanwo-Olu, the senators, the House of Representatives and House of Assembly members.

“If you look at the enormous crowd that comes to every gathering that we call, you will agree that we have sellable candidates. But aside from that, it is not enough to look at the crowd; you also want to look at what they have done. If you pick Asiwaju for instance, he did well during his eight-year tenure in Lagos and the template he put on the table is still being followed and none can be rubbished.

“If you take a look at Sanwo-Olu, he has been marvellous and he has been doing so since he was sworn in. If you look at his THEMES agenda, he pursued it with all the energy in him. He didn’t let COVID-19 worry him. I believe that the APC is quite lucky to have presented candidates that are not only sellable but that are going to be voted for in February and March elections.”

The chairman of the association, Bamidele Kazeem, said the essence of the prayer was to make the party victorious in the general election.

He said, “We decided to hold a special prayer for Bola Tinubu and governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other APC candidates across the federation so that they will come out victorious in the election.
