Why you need to write your will – Wuraola

Will

A financial expert, Mr Ayo Wuraola, has charged Nigerians to write their wills and secure their assets and investments with a trustee who manages them for their beneficiaries.

Wuraola said this at a media parley in Lagos on Wednesday.

He explained that writing a will is not a sign of imminent death but rather a crucial step to prevent family crisis and loss of investments after one’s demise.

Wuraola expressed concern about the financial hardships faced by the families of some High Net Worth Individuals (HNIs) after their benefactors’ death.

He also stressed the importance of having a well-structured financial investment plan in place.

He advocated the establishment of a will to facilitate easy access to inheritance for beneficiaries, rather than subjecting them to lengthy legal processes such as obtaining letters of administration.

“Trust is a currency of commerce and our daily living; we envisage that the business of Trust will grow exponentially in the next couple of years and begin to take its place in the industry.

“We are hopeful that the awareness of the Trust industry in Nigeria will continue to rise and deepen, as the role of a trustee is obligatory,” he said.
