Tottenham sack Antonio Conte as Head Coach

Tottenham Hotspur have sacked their Head Coach, Antonio Conte and announced that Cristian Stellini will take over the team as Acting Head Coach.

The club, in a statement on its website said Conte has left the club by mutual agreement and thanked him for contribution and wished him well for the future.

“We can announce that Head Coach Antonio Conte has left the Club by mutual agreement. We achieved Champions League qualification in Antonio’s first season at the Club. We thank Antonio for his contribution and wish him well for the future.

“Cristian Stellini will take the team as Acting Head Coach for the remainder of the season, along with Ryan Mason as Assistant Head Coach,” the club said.

Daniel Levy, Chairman of the club added: “We have 10 Premier League games remaining and we have a fight on our hands for a Champions League place.

“We all need to pull together. Everyone has to step up to ensure the highest possible finish for our Club and amazing, loyal supporters.”

Conte had been in charge of Tottenham for 16 months.

His departure means Spurs are searching for their fourth permanent manager in four years since Mauricio Pochettino left in 2019.

Italian Conte, who had won league titles with former clubs Chelsea, Juventus and Inter Milan, was appointed in November 2021 after Spurs sacked Nuno Espirito Santo.
