Must Read

From Chijioke Agwu, Abakaliki

Ebonyi State governor, Chief David Umahi, has reinterated the preparedness of the state to ensuring the victory of the All Progressives Congress(APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu and all APC candidates in tomorrow’s presidential and National Assembly elections.

He therefore vehemently denied speculations in the social media that the APC led goverment in the state has settled for the Labour party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi.

Special Assistant to Governor David Umahi on Media and Strategy, Mr. Chooks Oko, in a statement on Friday dismissed the speculation as false and misleading.

He accused the opposition of resorting to wicked and malicious ploys to score unmerited political points.

In the statement, Oko insisted that Governor David Umahi and the entire APC structure in the state were strongly committed to the victory of the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu and all the APC candidates.

“The attention of the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. Dave N. Umahi and all APC party faithfuls in the state have been drawn to the malicious insinuation that the party in the state has ditched her presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Jagaban Borgu for Mr Peter Obi of Labour Party.

“This is false, misleading and outright wicked. It is a ruthless ploy by the opposition to score cheap political gains they have not worked for.

“For the avoidance of doubt, Ebonyi State APC remains resolutely committed to voting in her presidential candidate, and enjoins all well meaning Ebonyians to follow suit” the statement said.
