Salernitana returns for Terem Moffi

Must Read

Salernitana have renewed their interest in Terem Igobor Moffi, the talented Nigerian forward who caught the attention of their scouts last summer, Soccernet.ng reports.

Moffi was initially on Salernitana’s wishlist along with Boulaye Dia, but the club was only able to secure a loan deal for the Senegalese forward from Villarreal.

Now, Salernitana are considering the potential partnership between Moffi and Dia or potentially finding a replacement if Dia returns to Spain.

Moffi had an impressive season while playing for Lorient and later on loan for OGC Nice.

He showcased his abilities and made a significant impact by scoring 18 goals in Ligue 1 matches and an additional three goals in the Conference League.

Moffi’s remarkable performance earned him praise and admiration, and he was even awarded the Goal of the Season in the Conference League.

Interestingly, the Super Eagles striker surpassed the goal tally of renowned football stars such as Lionel Messi (16), Alexis Sanchez (13), and Neymar (12) in the recently concluded Ligue 1 season.

Considering OGC Nice’s obligation to make Moffi’s move permanent, the chances of him leaving the French club are slim.

However, Salernitana are closely monitoring the situation while negotiations between Nice and Moffi continue, according to TuttoSalernitana.

In the unlikely event of a breakdown in talks, Salernitana are considering striking a deal with Lorient, which may involve a cash-plus-player swap, potentially including Boulaye Dia. Alternatively, there is also discussion about a loan arrangement with an obligation to buy.

It is worth noting that Moffi’s commitment to staying in France led him to reject offers from several Italian and English clubs during the January transfer window.
