He will be formally presented as a Real Madrid player on Tuesday afternoon.

The Blues confirmed this with a statement posted on their website on Monday.

It reads, ‘Kepa arrived at Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2018 from Athletic Club and established himself as a first-choice player during his debut season.

‘He made 54 appearances during the 2018/19 campaign, which ended with Chelsea lifting the Europa League trophy.

‘The Spaniard would go on to make a further 109 appearances for the Blues over the next four seasons, and was involved in our Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA World Club Cup triumphs.

‘Last term, Kepa was handed the captaincy for the first time and re-established himself in the Spain squad.

‘The club wishes him well for the season ahead in Madrid, where he will work with former Chelsea head coach Carlo Ancelotti’.
