Rapper found guilty of shooting colleague

Must Read

Canadian Rapper, Tory Lanez, has been found guilty of all three charges connected to the shooting of colleague and former friend, Megan Thee Stallion.

The unanimous verdict was reached by a jury seated in a Los Angeles court on Friday, Billboard reports.

The rapper was convicted of all counts which included assault with a semiautomatic firearm, carrying a loaded unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

The said incident happened back in July 2020 after both rappers left a private party hosted by reality TV star, Kylie Jenner.

Megan claimed she had gotten into a fight with Lanez and her friend, Harry, as they were driven home by Lanez’s security guard, Jaquan Smith.

In the heat of the squabble, Meghan said she alighted from the car, and was afterwards shot in the foot by Lanez. She claimed he shouted, “Dance, b**ch” while firing several times from the window.

While he refused to take the stand during the trial, Lanez had earlier pleaded “Not guilty” in November 2020, after he was arraigned.

With the verdict, Lanez faces up to 22 years in prison.
