Three suspects have been arrested over alleged vandalisation of ectricity cables in Iwopin community of Ogun state.
Spokesperson for Ogun police command, SP Omolola Odutola in a statement, identified the suspects as Saliu Ashimiu, Awolu Ibrahim, and Saliu Ibrahim.
He said they were arrested by an officer attached to the marine section of the Command, SP Ebietomoye Adeleke.
According to the statement, the officer mobilised his men to arrest the suspects after he saw them cutting the armoured cables of an electric pole at Igbolile street, area of Iwopin community.
He three button phones, one android phone, two iron cables cutters, clothes and repulsive charm were recovered from the suspects following their arrest.
Speaking on the arrest, the State commissioner of Police maintained that the vandals deliberately and willfully damage and destroy meant for the common enjoyment of the public.
He said the suspects cannot claim ignorance of the law and will be charged to court accordingly.
He also assured that suspects who escaped will surely be tracked and arrested.
