Men of the Rivers State Police Command on Friday killed four suspected cultists alleged to be terrorising Rundele and adjoining communities in the Emuoha Local Government Area of the state.
The state Commissioner of Police, Polycap Emeka, at a press briefing in Port Harcourt on Friday, alleged that the suspects were responsible for the murder of four persons, including two vigilantes.
He stated, “On June 2, 2023, around 05.40am, information was received that some cult boys invaded Mgbuaella village of Ndele community in Emuoha LGA.
“The Divisional Police Officer of Rumuji Division mobilised his patrol team, assisted by some vigilantes, to the scene and a gun duel ensued.
The police boss listed items recovered from them to include two pump-action guns, one locally-made pistol, some empty shells of AK-47 ammunition, and cartridges.
