The Lagos State Government has notified the motoring public that work has reached appreciable progress on the Island bound section of the Third Mainland Bridge.
The Third Mainland Bridge is currently undergoing repair works by the Federal Ministry of Works.
A statement issued by the Lagos Commissioner for Transportation, Oluewaseun Osiyemi, said as the next phase of the repair works progressed, traffic would now be diverted through the Iyana Oworonshoki, Lagos Island bound lane of the bridge from Thursday, 22nd February, 2024.

He said the existing traffic arrangement still persisted till the completion of the project.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the Third Mainland Bridge will be open from Mainland to Island between 12 midnight to 12 am, while from Island to Mainland will open between 1pm and 12 midnight.
“While commending motorists for their patience and understanding since the commencement of the rehabilitation works, Osiyemi further urged them to cooperate with the traffic management officials deployed to the affected routes to manage traffic which in turn will ensure seamless mobility and minimize inconveniences.
