Osun applicants demand NSCDC, NIS recruitment probe

Must Read

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board have been urged to investigate the process of shortlisting successful candidates from Osun State in the recently concluded recruitment for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the Nigeria Immigration Service.

Coordinator of about 170 applicants from Osun State, Israel Omiranti, during an interview with our correspondent in Osogbo, said after they registered and underwent other processes for the recruitment into the Immigration and Civil Defence, none of them was eventually shortlisted for the job.

According to him, the affected applicants, despite meeting all the criteria for recruitment, suddenly learnt that some people had been shortlisted from the state without due process.

He said, “On behalf of over 170 candidates who applied for different positions in Nigeria Immigration Service and Nigeria Civil Defence Corps, we are appealing to the chairman of CDCFIB and other administrator to help us look into the Nigeria Immigration and NSCDC shortlisting from Osun State.”

Speaking further, Omiranti said the applicants had written to the state Governor, Ademola Adeleke, to express their dismay and called for his intervention to stop the injustice in shortlisting of successful applicants from the state.

The letter partly read, “We are writing to bring your attention to a matter of great concern regarding the recent recruitment process conducted by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board in our dear state, Osun nationwide.

“It saddens us to note that despite fulfilling all the necessary requirements, none of us was considered successful. We diligently prepared and passed the examination, and subsequently traveled to Ibadan Zone F for the physical screening and certificate verification.

“However, to our dismay, not a single one of us among the Osun State applicants was deemed eligible for the positions we applied for. This blatant disregard for the rights and abilities of Osun State applicants raises.

Serious concerns about the integrity of the recruitment process.

“Your Excellency, we implore you to investigate this matter thoroughly. We seek your intervention to ensure that justice is served and that the recruitment process is conducted in a transparent and unbiased manner.”
