Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR), on Wednesday, charged the Osun government to quickly implement recommendations made at its 2023 education summit.

Osun held a three-day education summit from Aug. 22 to Aug. 24, 2023.

CDHR’s Executive Director, Mr Emmanuel Olowu, stated in Osogbo that the group submitted its contribution to the education summit with the title: “Science education is in the state of comatose.’’

He added that the contribution aimed at repositioning science education in Osun to meet world standards.

“We are glad that our document played a significant role in the recommendations of the summit to advance the education sector in the state,’’ he added.

Olowu noted that the education summit’s report had been delayed for upwards of three months after the committee led by Prof. Oyesoji Aremu presented the report and recommendations to the state government.

He urged the Osun government to expedite action on the production of a White Paper on the report to lay the foundation for the implementation of recommendations made.
