The Kogi state chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Hon. Abdullahi Bello has said the emergence of Alhaji Usman Ododo at the just concluded party primary was the best thing to happen to the state in recent time
The APC chairman who described Ododo as a grassroot politician and a highly intelligent man said his choice as the standard flag bearer of the party for the November 11 governorship election was a round peg in a round hole.
Abdullahi Bello stated this Sunday while reacting to the choice of Usman Ahmed Ododo as the candidate of APC for the forthcoming governorship election in Kogi state.
According to him , the APC candidate has the experience, capacity , carriage to govern the state, saying Ododo’s background from private sector will offer him the impetus to effect massive development of the state if given the mandate.
He commended the party members who gave him their votes to emerged as the winner of the primary election of APC conducted across the 239 wards that formed the state.
The APC chairman praised the resilience of the party’s members in conducting themselves maturely that led to peaceful conduct of the primary election without any rancour from any ward.
He thank Governor Yahaya Bello for his support to the party at all times, assuring that APC would win the governorship election.
Also speaking a chieftain of APC from Ibaji local government Mr Peter Moses said Ododo is one of the cool headed appointee of Governor Yahaya Bello, saying as Auditor-General for local government he was able to put smiles on the faces of the downtrodden.
“Ododo is a lover of education. He single handedly printed over twelve thousand copies of Physics and chemistry textbooks
each which was distributed to secondary schools across the three senatorial districts of the state.
“The APC flag bearer is an indegene of Okene local government but he went to Adavi and repairs community roads for the benefits of the masses. His choice is not by mistake but through his selfless service to humanity” he said.
