Nasarawa United kicked off their Nigeria National League (NNL) campaign in style, clinching a 1-0 victory against Zamfara United at the Lafia Township Stadium.

The lone goal, netted by Aminu Abubakar, jersey number 13, within the first 9 minutes of the game, positioned the hosting team for success as they aspire to return to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) next season.

Governor Sule, speaking after the match, conveyed gratitude to the state-owned team, stating, “With this, I’m optimistic that the Solid Miners are going back to the Premier League.”

He affirmed the state’s commitment to sports investment, emphasising its role in youth development and unity among the people.
