A 15-year-old boy simply identified as Ekine who was reported missing last Monday August was found dead around Mbudayia River in Rumulomeni,Obio/Akpor Local Government Area on Thursday.
Tt was learnt that parents of the boy who are resident of Mile 2 Diobu, Port Harcourt, the state capital, had reported to the police that he was missing on Tuesday, 8, August, 2023.
But a source privy to the incident said the corpse of the teenage boy was seen by a boat driver on Thursday when it was floating on the River.
It was learnt that the parents of the teenager identified his remains when they were informed of the discovery.
Responding to an enquiry by our reporter, the spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe- Koko confirmed the incident.
She said the parents of the teenager has buried their son as they said they were not interested in any case.
