A nine-year-old boy, Emmanuel Adeyemi, who was reported missing in Lagos, has been found.

had on December 13 reported that Emmanuel was nowhere to be found on November 19 when his father, Olasunkanmi Adeyemi, lamented his sudden disappearance while on an evangelical outreach in the Orile-Agege area of the state.

Adeyemi, who disclosed to our correspondent that the case was reported at the Elere Police Station in the Agege area, said the police had yet to ascertain the missing boy’s whereabouts.

It was gathered that following the report, Emmanuel was, on Monday, found at an orphanage home in Ikotun in the Alimosho Local Government Area of the state.

learnt that the boy was rescued by the officials of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps, formerly known as “Kick Against Indiscipline”, after he was allegedly dropped off in a tricycle with his eyes covered and people assembled to look at him.

He was thereafter taken to the Ikotun Police Station, Alimosho, Lagos.

Reacting to the new development, Adeyemi said, “I got a call from “KAI” officials on Monday. When I got to their office, I was told that the boy had been found. According to what they told me, the boy was dropped off in a tricycle and many people gathered looking at him. Some of the “KAI” officials who saw the gathering went to the scene and thereafter took him and handed him over to the police.

“They saw the missing child’s picture because it was posted on social media and even in newspaper. They said they were amazed that this was the missing child that was taken to the police station. In his picture, they saw my mobile number and called me,” he said.

He said they went to the orphanage where his child was kept and found him there. “After his release, we went to the Ikeja Police Station to inform them that we’ve found the child,” he declared.

Adeyemi, however, expressed gratitude to for assisting in finding his son.

The state PPRO, Benjamin Hundeyin, could not be reached for reaction as calls made to his phone rang out but was not answered.
