Officials of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) have shut down the popular Vertigo Bar in Victoria Island area of Lagos over noise pollution.

This is contained in a statement on LASEPA‘s X handle on Sunday.

The agency said the closure was part of its commitment to combat environmental infractions and uphold the well-being of Lagos residents.

The statement stated that the enforcement followed a thorough assessment by the agency that Vertigo Bar’s activities contributed to noise pollution in the area.

The bar shut

According to LASEPA, complaints from residents prompted this swift intervention to bring back normalcy and ensure adherence to established environmental standards.

The statement reads: “In its ongoing commitment to combat environmental infractions and uphold the well-being of Lagos residents, the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) took decisive action today by shutting down Vertigo Bar, situated in Victoria Island, for noise pollution.

“This enforcement action followed a thorough assessment by LASEPA, revealing that Vertigo Bar’s activities contributed significantly to noise pollution in the area. Complaints from residents prompted this swift intervention to bring back normalcy and ensure adherence to established environmental standards.
