Deadly members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Saturday morning shot two policemen dead in Imo State, South East Nigeria.

Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi revealed this on his X handle on Saturday.

Adejobi, who displayed gory photos of the policemen killed, said they were attacked by suspected IPOB members.

He said the policemen were on patrol at Garki Okigwe in Imo State when they were attacked by the terrorists.

Asides killing the officers, the terrorists burnt the police vehicle and fled the scene of the incident.

Adejobi wrote: “Our men attacked and killed by suspected IPOB members in Imo today. May their souls rest in peace. I wonder how someone would allege that we don’t tackle security challenges in Nigeria.

“If not, how and how do we die? That’s the question. These men in Garki Okigwe, Imo State this morning, 23rd March, were on a routine patrol, and they were attacked.

“They used dynamite on them. It’s so sad. I hope we realise our mistakes on time.”

Earlier in Delta State, six policemen were ambushed and killed by their assailants who also abducted six others.

Adejobi said the brave officers tragically fell victim to a cowardly ambush by armed assailants while undertaking a mission to investigate the disappearance and rescue of three of their colleagues in the Ohoro Forest, Delta State, while six (6) others were currently missing-in-action.

“Our hearts extend to the families, friends, and colleagues of the fallen officers during this period of profound sorrow. We stand in solidarity with them, offering our deepest condolences and earnestly praying for the peaceful repose of the departed souls.
