Karim Benzema struck a hat-trick within seven minutes on Sunday as Real Madrid demolished Valladolid 6-0 to cut Barcelona’s lead at the top to 12.
A stunning strike from Rodrygo opened scoring for Madrid as he latched on to a precise through ball from Marco Asensio before unleashing an unstoppable shot into the bottom left corner from the edge of the area.
Benzema made it 2-0 on 29 minutes after Vinicius Junior put the ball on a plate for him, who had an easy finish with a header into an empty net.
Three minutes later, Benzema tried his luck from the edge of the box and scored with an accurate shot inside the right post, with Vinicius Junior providing the assist.
The striker completed his hat-trick on 36 minutes. He found space in the box from a lofted pass and landed the perfect scissor-kick goal to make it 4-0 for the homers.
Vinicius Junior set up Rodrygo for a shot on the edge of the box, as the the ball found its way into the bottom right corner, but the goal was ruled out.
A great link up play between Marco Asensio and Rodrygo gave the former a clear sight of goal on the edge of the box, beating the keeper in the left side of the goal.
Lucas Vazquez made it 6-0 for Madrid after he was teed up on the edge of the box by Eden Hazard, and his howitzer of a shot found its way into the bottom left corner.
