Must Read

European champions Real Madrid came from behind to demolish Liverpool 5-2 at Anfield in the round of 16 of the Champions League.

Liverpool were two goals up within 14 minutes of the first half, but Vinicius Junior sparked Madrid’s comeback, scoring a brace and setting up another.

Karim Benzema also got a brace while Eder Militao entered the scoresheet.

Darwin Nunez finished off a sublime move with a delightful back-heel goal, with Mohamed Salah providing the assist with a brilliant pass in just four minutes for Liverpool’s first goal.

Salah added a second goal, seizing on the loose ball after a huge error from Thibaut Courtois and found the back of the net from inside the box.

Vinicius pulled one back for Madrid after he had acres of space, latching on to a precise pass into the box and releasing a low effort which ended up in the bottom right corner to make it 1-2.

The visitors tore Liverpool apart in the second half, as Militao celebrated a beautiful goal, after winning the ball inside the box from the free kick and planted a header inside the left post.

Benzema made it 2-4 for Madrid, picking up the ball inside the box and found himself in a good position before firing in a shot which was deflected past Alisson.
