Gunmen raze high court in Imo

While the police are still battling to arrest the culprits behind the shooting of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) ward chairman, Charles Oke in Ogbaku, Mbaitoli Council Area, Imo State at the weekend, a high court has also been razed by the hoodlums on Sunday.

According to a source from the area, the gunmen stormed the court located inside the Oguta Local Government at about 11 pm and set it on fire.

The source who did not want his name to be mentioned said that the Magistrate’s Court Registry, Appeal Court Record Office, File Room, Secretary to the High Court Judge’s office, office of the High Court bailiff, and the chamber of the High Court judge were badly affected.

Another source from the community who confirmed the incident to our correspondent said that “Yes, it’s true, I saw with my own eyes, the incident happened on Sunday night, but we thank God no life was lost in the fire.”
