Ebonyi State governor, Ogbonna Nwifuru has been commended for ushering in policies geared towards reducing poverty.
The accolade was handed down by the
governorship candidate of the Action People’s Party (APP), in the 2019 poll, Dr Elechi Oko Elechi, in a statement yesterday.
Elechi noted that commencement of the cash empowerment of 500 indigenes of the state by the government indicated the determination of Nwifuru to simmer down the systemic problem.
The Abuja based businessman maintained that with the sterling initiatives, the state, in no distance time, would blossom into prosperity as it would increase the number of people investing in Small and medium scale enterprise.
The entrepreneur charged the beneficiaries to judiciously utilize the grants to better themselves and the society.
He encouraged political stakeholders in the state to rally round governor Nwifuru to enable him achieve his blueprint on people’s charter of needs.
He opined that with the governor’s ongoing efforts in industrialising the state, commitment to health worker, education, reticulation of abandoned Ezillo water treatment plant, reviving the pipe productive plant, payment of accumulated gratuities of retired civil servants of the state, it would become an El dorado.
“All of these shows the governor is well prepared for the task of governance and he has the people’s interest and welfare at heart,” he added.
