The Rivers State Government has dismissed as unfounded the reports published in some media platforms that Governor Siminalayi Fubara has sacked certain categories of his aides and local council Chairmen.
In a government press statement personally signed by Joe Johnson, the Commissioner for Information and Communications, the government called on members of the public to discountenance the unfounded report.
According to Johnson, “This is to clarify that our dear governor is a technocrat, with robust civil service background, kind-hearted and a very humane person who does things according to laid down rules and with the fear of God.”
Johnson, therefore, asked Rivers people and the general public to jettison such unconfirmed reports as the public would be properly informed of who might have been removed by the governor at the appropriate time.

“It is pertinent to note that as the Commissioner for Information and Communications, I shall keep the public updated on events in due course,” he said.
Our Correspondent reports that there have been publications claiming that Fubara had sacked his Chief of Staff, Chief Security Officer, CSO, all Local Government Chairmen and the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Simon Amadi and was shopping for an Acting Chief Judge for the State.
The speculations arose from the bombing of the Chambers of the Rivers State House of Assembly and impeachment notice served on the Governor by a faction of lawmakers loyal to Nyesom Wike, Minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT, led by Martin Amaewhule as its Speaker.
At a moment later, Edison Ehie, the Leader of the House who was earlier removed, emerged as Speaker loyal to Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
