Five kidnappers arrested after invading Edo farm camp

In a statement, the state command spokesperson, Chidi Nwabuzor, said different types of arms were recovered from the suspects, commending the people for reporting the suspects to the police, which led to their arrest.

 The statement read, “Edo State Police Command hereby wishes to inform the general public of the arrest of five male suspected kidnappers. They are Christopher Aiyegbeni (29 years), Matthew Osayande (32 years), Uyi Destiny (27 years), Bankole Faz (35 years), and Ayemen Okojie (32 years).

 “Recovered from them are one double-barrelled gun, one single-barrelled gun and two pump-action guns with cartridges on Friday December 16, 2022, by the operatives of Ekiadolor Divisional Police Headquarters, Benin City, Edo State.

 “The arrest of the suspects was made possible following a complaint made by a patriotic citizen of the state that at about 06:00hrs on the said date, a group of five men suspected to be kidnappers, heavily armed with guns and other dangerous weapons invaded Ogoja Camp, also known as, Ford Oga Camp with the intention of kidnapping one of the heads of the camp.”
