Enyimba Feeders star sets eye on Europe

Enyimba Feeders bubbling central defender Godistoomuch Ebuka Ononaku is all ready to ply his professional football trade in Europe and he is at the moment, waiting for the right club.

Ononaku, 17, spotted in a dazzling form during a football event in Aba, Abia State said right from his primary school days when he started playing football, his dream had been to ply his trade in Europe.

The Orlu, Imo State-born young star said as far as playing football at the junior cadre in Nigeria was concerned, he has paid his dues having graduated from Pepsi Academy to Enyimba Feeders and what was left for him is to travel to Europe to exhibit his skills.

“I’m determined to play football. I play football, I dream football and I sleep football. I see myself aspiring to play football in Europe. This is why I have been playing under the strict guidance of my coaches. They have helped to harness my skills as a player. I have the passion to play football.

“I started with the Pepsi Football Academy as a central defender, I’m currently playing for the Enyimba FC feeder team”.

The overlapping defender said he has many goals to his credit. “Even as a defender, I have scored many goals and provided many assists to my teammates. My goals and assists have won us important matches in and outside Aba where I’m based.”

Ononaku, who sees defensive maestro, Van Dyke as his role model, believed he has learnt lots of things from the defensive rave of the moment that will help his career, even in Europe.

One of the defender’s coaches, Eke, described Ononaku as a skilful and focused player.

“He has a good character and is always willing to learn. I was his coach when he played for Pepsi Academy. He is a good sweeper, strong in aerial battles and loves going forward to join the attack”.

Eke said age being on his side, if the player continues the way he was going, he will emerge as one of the best attack-minded defenders in the world.
