United coach, Kabiru Dogo, has reaffirmed his commitment to the club after successfully leading them to safety in the abridged 2022/23 Nigeria Professional Football League, reports.

The Harmony Boys secured their place in the NPFL for next season thanks to a 1-0 win over Nasarawa United in Akure on Sunday.

Yahaya Ibrahim’s late goal proved decisive for Dogo’s men, as they mathematically moved to safety with 17 points from 17 matches, at the expense of their opponents who had 13 points with one game each left.

“We appreciate everyone that have supported us through the trying times. I am very happy that the club will still be in the league next season too. The most important thing now is that we are still here,” Dogo said after the match.

“I know that the league is about to end for now, but we have learnt our lessons and I believe that with what we have, we will build on it and be where we are supposed to b next season.”

After finishing within continental spots in the last two seasons, Kwara United endured a torrid campaign in the abridged season.

The win against Nasarawa United was their fourth of the season, having lost eight and drawn five matches.

Unable to play at the Ilorin township stadium due to renovation, the club played the first stanza of the league in Ibadan before adopting Akure for the second half of the campaign.
