A Federal High Court in Lagos has struck out the charge against 19 Bureau de Change operators  who are alleged to have been operating illegally without licence.

The defendants were scheduled to be arraigned  on a 20-count charge  before Justice  Lewis Allagoa. When the case was mentioned, the legal officer from State Criminal Investigation Department Panti, Yaba, Lagos Usman Bello told the court that the defendants were brought to court for arraignment.

Four lawyers had  announced their appearances for the defendants. But before they could be  arraigned, Bello told the court that he had received an instruction from his office that the charge should be withdrawn.

Consequently,  Justice Allagoa struck out the charge.
