Must Read

The Itesiwaju Omu Arogun Area Community Development Committee in the Obafemi Owode Local Government, Ogun State, has promised to embark on vocational empowerment programmes to assist residents in 2024.

The ACDC chairman, Yemi Adebisi, during the First Annual General Meeting, in December, disclosed that the communities which consisted of 17 Community Development Areas, would partner with some companies within and outside the nation to help the indigent families.

He said, “Our plan for next year is to empower our people. We will partner with so many companies and other international companies outside the country that will empower our people. They will be empowered with different kinds of vocational training that will make them well-meaning people, to be able to give back to the community.”

“Some of the vocational training that we will provide includes; catering services, fashion designing, and many more. For those who are good at dancing, we will organise seminars and link them up with the groups that can train them. We also planned to raise funds for some of the children that cannot obtain jamb form.” Adebisi said.

He noted that apart from empowerment, they would also invest more in the security architecture of the community to ensure the safety of lives and properties.

As part of the achievement, Yemi said the communities had organised football teams in all the communities which was to promote community engagement, healthy lifestyle, and build a sense of togetherness.

They, however, seized the medium to appeal to the Governor of the State, Mr Dapo Abiodun, to complete the construction of the Mowe-Ofada road which was said to have become one of their major challenges in the community.
