Chrisland varsity graduates 91, produces 10 first class

Chrisland University, Ajebo, Abeokuta has held its 5th convocation producing 91 graduates out of which 10 made First Class.

The convocation was held within the premises of the institution.

Miss Ezekwem  Michelle from the Department of Software Engineering with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.91 emerged as the overall best graduating student.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Peace Babalola, however, called on the graduates to impact the world for good and make a  difference in making life more rewarding for humanity.

Speaking during the convocation, Babalola disclosed that as graduates of the varsity, they had been trained to imbibe the core values of integrity, accountability, hardwork, and dedication to service.

He said, “These graduates have imbibed the values of Chrisland University and we have no doubt that they shall shine the light wherever they find themselves in the nearest future.

“Admit that there are hard times but believe that you are trained to excel beyond average. Identify the problems, and set your goals and plans for a better tomorrow. Be determined and tenacious. Have a mindset to succeed and overcome hard times to excel in your endeavours.”

While congratulating the graduates for completing their academic programmes, the founder and Chancellor of the University, Dr  Winifred Awosika, however, urged them to see themselves as leaders ready to take responsibility for their lives.

Awosika said, “You must see yourself as a leader who is ready to take responsibility for his or her life. Challenge the existing ways of doing things and be a better innovator.

“Change is the only thing that is permanent in life, so embrace change by acquiring and developing new skills to be more relevant in our current highly competitive global environment.”

She revealed that the university remained committed to producing manpower with a critical mind that can solve societal problems, add value to society and have the required skills and ability to be employers in addition to being gainfully employed.
