President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Adams Oshiomhole, former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on his 71st birthday.
His felicitations are contained in a congratulatory message issued by his Spokesman, Mr Femi Adesina on Tuesday.
The Nigerian president praised Oshiomhole’s courage in advocating reforms and standing up for the people’s welfare.
He congratulated the former governor of Edo State on his dedication to democracy and development.
According to the President, Oshiomhole’s work as the President of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) for eight years was laudable.
The president congratulated the former party leader on his election to the Senate, revealing his desire to serve the country in various capacities after many years as an activist and labour leader.
He added that Oshiomhole had consistently pursued good governance, particularly in improving workers’ livelihoods, which has a direct impact on economic growth.
Nigeria, he said, owes the former NLC president a debt of gratitude for always calling attention to the plight of workers.
Buhari prayed for the former party chairman and his family’s health.
