Breakthrough Action Nigeria appoints Gov’s wife, Nafisa Idris as patron

The wife of Kebbi State Governor, Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris, has been appointed as the Patron of the SBC-ACG group working with Breakthrough Action Nigeria in Kebbi State.


Social and Behavioral Change Advocacy Co Group (SBC-ACG) is a group of religious and traditional leaders working with Breakthrough Action on social and gender norms addressing healthcare specifically for women and children.

The State Coordinator of Breakthrough Action Nigeria, Kebbi State stated that, the appointment was based on her dedication to addressing the health challenges faced by women and children in the state.

Senior Special Adviser on Media to Governor’s wife, Ibrahim Mahe confirmed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi.

According to him,”they requested her commitment in facilitating the adoption of SBC-ACG into the State Health Agency and invited her to the upcoming award ceremony to honor the best performers, including the SBC-ACG personalities.

 

“Her Excellency, Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris gladly accepted the role and pledged to support the group’s sustainability. She also promised to attend the award ceremony to present the well-deserved recognition”.

He added that, Hajiya Nafisa Idris
assured them that, Kebbi State Government, led by her husband, Dr. Nasir Idris, is fully committed to implementing SBC-ACG in the state by adopting the SBC-ACG into the Health Promotion Unit Under the Primary Health Care Development Agency.

 

Among the Advocacy team present were the Executive Secretary of the State Primary Health Care Development Agency, the district head of Diggi, an advocacy advisor from Breakthrough Action Nigeria, representatives from Izala and Dariqa, a representative from CAN, the State Ameerah of FOMWAN, and the State Health Educator.
