Bayelsa Gov. Diri takes oath of office for second term
Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State sworn in for second term

The incumbent Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri, has been sworn in for his second term in office.
He took the oaths of office and allegiance which were administered by the State Chief Judge, Justice Matilda Ayemieye at about 2 pm today.
The deputy governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, was first sworn in by Justice Ayemieye.

Governor Diri won the November 11 2023 gubernatorial election in Bayelsa to secure his second term of office.
Dignitaries such as the APC national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje; former president Olusegun Obasanjo; former president Goodluck Jonathan and his wife Dame Patience Jonathan, among others reportedly graced the occasion.
