The damaged Toyota Camry belonging to the spokesman of the Presidential Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress, Mr Adebayo Onanuga in an accident which resulted from the recklessness of a driver in Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s convoy on Sunday in Abuja has been fully repaired with the bill footed by the PDP Presidential Candidate.
Onanuga revealed this on Thursday in a post on his Facebook page as an update on the unfortunate incident.
“My car is now back on the road, fully repaired after the bashing on Sunday by a driver in Atiku Abubakar’s convoy”, he announced with new pictures of the fully restored car.
The APC Presidential Campaign spokesman went further to commend the swift and rational response of the Atiku Abubakar campaign organisation.
“I commend Atiku’s aides, especially the Chief of staff Mainasara Sani; director of strategic communications, Dele Momodu for ensuring that I was fully reimbursed for the expenses incurred.
“I also applaud the sanction meted out to the driver who hit my car. Our VIPs need to constantly caution their drivers in their motorcade to respect other road users”, Onanuga said.
The accident occurred on Sunday night along the Shehu Shagari Way, Maitama, Abuja when a Toyota SUV in the convoy of Alhaji Abubakar rammed into the veteran journalist’s car and drove off leaving him to his fate.
Onanuga pursued the convoy to its destination and made his case before returning home.
