Nigeria’s world record holder and world champion, Tobi Amusan is gradually cementing why she holds the World Record in women’s 100m hurdles event.
Amusan breezed to a Meeting Record (MR) of 12.34s to win the women’s 100mh at Silesia Diamond on League on Sunday, beating American duo of Keni Harrison and Nia Ali came in 2nd and 3rd with 12.35s and 12.38s respectively.
Fresh from competing at their various national championships last week, Amusan faced other top national champions in a thrilling clash.
It would be recalled that Amusan blazed to her third consecutive national title in 12.70s after having busy schedules at Lausanne and Stockholm Diamond League .
In Stockholm, the World Record holder got her first Diamond League win of the season under wrap, reigning supreme in the women’s 100m Hurdles in an impressive 12.52s (0.9). This was after losing to Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn in Lausanne.
Having two consecutive wins now, Amusan will be gunning for her third against tough competitors such as newly crowned US Champion Nia Ali.
