Akure man Sola Ayemibo remanded for robbing, killing motorcyclist

An Akure Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday ordered the remand of a 30-year-old man, Sola Ayemibo, for allegedly killing a motorcyclist, Olawale Bello after he robbed him of his motorcycle.
The police arraigned the defendant, whose address was not given, on two counts of robbery and murder.
The prosecutor, Insp Nelson Akintimehin, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Oct. 11, 2023 at about 8:30pm at Adegbemile Area in Akure.
Akintimehin alleged that the defendant killed Olawale Bello, a commercial motorcyclist, having succeeded in robbing him of his TVS motorcycle.

He said that the offences contravened Sections 316 and 402 of the Criminal Law of Ondo State, 2016.
The prosecutor urged the court to remand the defendant in the Olokuta Correctional Centre in Akure, pending the advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution(DPP).
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the offences.
The Magistrate, Mr Musa Al-Yunus, ordered the remand of the defendant at the Olokuta Correctional Centre in Akure.
