Abuja Pastor Chika Nwofor lands in trouble for stoning colleague

A 47-year-old cleric, Chika Nwofor, has been docked by the police in Abuja for threatening his colleague, one George Ekejiuba, the General Superintendent of Indomitable Power of God Church.

Nwofor who resides in Hajj Camp Gwagwalada was arraigned on charge of criminal intimidation in an Upper Area Court Gwagwalada, FCT.

The Prosecution Counsel, Abdullahi Tanko, told the court that sometime in October 2023, the defendant went to the premises of Indomitable Power of God Church in Tunga Maje.

Tanko said that on three occasions the defendant threw stones at one pastor, George Ekejiuba, the General Superintendent of Indomitable Power of God Church.

He said that the defendant threatened to deal with the pastor if he did not leave his wife knowing fully that she is a married woman.

The prosecutor said that the offense contravened the provision of Section 396 of the Penal Code.

Nowfor however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Judge, Abdullahi Abdulkarim, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N500,000 with one surety in like who must be within the court’s jurisdiction.

Abdulkarim ordered that the address of the surety must be verified and must provide a valid means of identification.

He adjourned the case until March 11 for hearing.
