The Founder, Ajayi Polytechnic, Ikere Ekiti, Dr Busayo Ajayi, says that no fewer than 700 students of the institution have benefited from its scholarship programme.

Ajayi, who said the offer would be extended to another 1000 students next session, reiterated the institution’s commitment to continue supporting parents with low income by making more scholarships available.

The founder spoke during the maiden combined convocation ceremonies for five sessions and the sixth Founder’s Day celebration of the institution, where 263 National Diploma graduates were officially graduates.

Ajayi, who said the school was marching forward in its mission of raising entrepreneurial-driven giants and skilled technicians, charged the graduands to “be great ambassadors of the institution by daring to dream irrespective of the challenges confronting the country”

He said, “To remain focused on our vision, we ensure that all our students acquire at least one skill before they graduate. Looking back, with a deep sense of appreciation to God, all our targets have been met so far”.

The Executive Secretary of the State Scholarship Board, Mrs Bosede Jegede, who represented Ekiti State Government, said that the training acquired would go a long way in shaping the graduates’ lives and ensuring that they impacted positively on Nigeria through their various endeavours.

The Acting Rector, Dr. Bolanle Ajayi, said that the institution had witnessed tremendous growth in areas including infrastructural development, the establishment of an entrepreneurship unit, vocational programmes, and the establishment of the NABTEB Centre for Ordinary Level students.

She, however, solicited support for the polytechnic from philanthropists, lovers of education, and well-meaning Nigerians “to be able to achieve our mission and vision”.
