Social media is buzzing after the British Broadcasting Corporation’s Africa Eye released a three-part expose on the alleged secret lives of the late televangelist, TB Joshua.

 

 

The video, titled “Disciples: The Cult of TB Joshua,” features testimonies from former disciples and church workers accusing the late prophet of manipulation and physical abuse.

 

 

The investigation also examines the 2014 building collapse at the Synagogue Church of All Nations, owned by Joshua, which resulted in the death of at least 115 people.

 

Here are 12 things we know about the Late televangelist, T B Joshua

 

 

1. T.B. Joshua was born on June 12, 1963, in Ondo State, Nigeria.  He was reported to have stayed 15 months in his mother’s womb.

 

2. T B Joshua Attended St. Stephen’s Anglican Primary School and left secondary education after one year to work on a poultry farm.

 

3. He founded The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) in 1987 with a few members. The church later expanded to have a large following within and outside Nigeria.

 

4. T B Joshua was a philanthropist, He started ‘My People FC’ football club in 2009, aiding youth development. He supported football players like Sani Emmanuel and Ogenyi Onazi and financially backed WBO International Light Middleweight boxing champion King, Davidson Emenogu.

 

5. Forbes reported T.B. Joshua as the third-richest pastor in Nigeria in 2011, with an estimated net worth of $10-15 million.
