One person has been confirmed dead after a building collapsed at Oloto Street by Borno Way, off Freeman Street, Oyingbo, Lagos State.

A statement issued by Permanent Secretary of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) said the incident occurred around 7:45 am on Thursday.

According to Oke-Osanyintolu, no one sustained injury, but the deceased is an elderly woman and is yet to be identified.

Oke-Osanyintolu further said the search operation is still ongoing at the site while the building has been cordoned off.

“Unfortunately, an old woman died from the impact of the partial collapse. The search and rescue operation is still ongoing,” he stated.

“In attendance are officials of LASEMA Response Team, LRU Paramedics, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and LASAMBUS.

“The building has been cordoned off and officials of the Lagos State Building Control Agency ( LABCA) has been contacted,” he added.
