”This Government will not give excuses. The painstaking and methodical approach by the Buhari Administration, its deep analysis and understanding of the challenges and the recent inauguration of the cabinet will herald a new dawn,” the Minister said at a meeting with representatives of Civil Society Organizations, CSOs, in Abuja on Tuesday.
He said that in the next few days, the administration ”will start firing from all cylinders, starting with the unveiling of the 2016 budget”.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested ex-Sokoto state governor Attahiru Bafarawa and Chairman of the Africa Independent Television (AIT) Raymond Dokpesi over alleged N2.1 billion arms procurement scam said to have been carried out by former National Security Adviser (NSA) Sambo Dasuki.
Daily Trust gathered that Attahiru Bafarawa whose sons were already in EFCC custody was together with Dokpesi being questioned at the Abuja head office of the commission.
Bafarawa had earlier escaped arrest by operatives of the EFCC when they raided his Abuja residence. Read More →
Tension is now mounting in Ofagbe community, Isoko North council area of Delta state where a reported clash between community youths and Fulani cattle herders claimed a life and left another victim critically injured.
The Nation gathered that trouble started between the two groups when the Fulani herders, who were allegedly armed with dangerous weapons, including Ak47 automatic rifles, tried to forcefully graze their cattle on community farmlands last Sunday.
According to community sources, the incident happened when some youths from the community tried to stop the herdsmen from entering their farms. The sources added that in the process two of their youths were allegedly shot but only one died on the spot while the other was rushed to an undisclosed hospital in Ughelli. Read More →

A group under the aegis of Kogi Central Patriotic Citizens Forum has applauded the decision of the All Progressive Congress(APC) in nominating Alh Yahaya Bello as replacement to late Abubakar Audu.
In a press statement signed by the chairman of the forum, Alh Ahmed Musa-Ododo and made available to news men in Lokoja, the group applauded the demonstration of justice, fairness,equity and transparency in which the party nominated Bello and said it was the best option for the party.
While commending president Buhari for not dabbling into the party issue, the statement expressed satisfaction that the APC will clear the supplementary election coming up this Saturday.
The forum described Yahaya Bello’s governorship ticket as ‘ the peoples ticket’ and urged all Kogites to support him saying Bello does not have any ill feeling with any part of the state.
The statement also advised Chief James Faleke not to give in to the antics of an ethnic group in the state who it said are pushing him into destruction so that they could hold on to power ” which has evident slipped off from their hands, because they are afraid of power shift” it added. Read More →

…says increment to avert future scarcity
The Senate has added N108bn to the N413bn contained in the supplementary appropriation request sent to it by President Muhamadu Buhari for approval for the payment of outstanding fuel subsidy to oil marketers.
The addition, which was proposed by the Senate Appropriation Committee yesterday, is to cover fuel subsidy for the last quarter of this year.
This new addition has therefore brought the total outstanding fuel subsidy requirement to N521bn. The lawmakers explained that the new addition was not part of the N413bn requested for by the President. Read More →
