Why APC postponed Tinubu’s presidential rally in Taraba

Must Read

The Presidential campaign rally of the All Progressives Congress scheduled for Friday 20 January in Jalingo, Taraba state has been postponed.

The APC’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima were billed to hold a rally in Taraba on Friday.

The governorship candidate, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha in a statement today said the postponement followed the realisation that the rally falls on Friday.

“The APC-PCC, as a matter of policy, does not hold rallies on Fridays and Sundays to respect the religious sensitivity of its members and supporters”, Bwacha said in an online statement.

“Accordingly, the rally is hereby postponed to a new date to be decided in full consultation with the APC Presidential campaign Council.

“While awaiting the new date, we hereby express our profound regret for the inconvenience caused by this development, and we appeal for patience and understanding”.

Secretary of the Presidential Campaign Council, James Faleke also confirmed the postponement.

He said a new date will be announced.
