UNILAG 53rd convocation starts January 17

The University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka, has announced dates for the 53rd convocation ceremonies, which is part of the activities to mark the 60th anniversary of the university.

A statement by the university Information Unit, informed the community, graduating students (postgraduate) and general public that the 60th anniversary (53rd) convocation ceremonies dates have been fixed by the Senate.
The Vice-Chancellor of UNILAG, Prof. Folasade Ogunsola, would brief the press on the forthcoming venue on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 while commissioning of the Tele-Medicine project is scheduled for Friday, January 13, 2023.
The statement added the investiture of the 13th Vice-Chancellor would hold on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at the J. F. Ade. Ajayi Auditorium as well as 60th (53rd) anniversary convocation lecture Prelude – Book presentation: University of Lagos: The 6th Decade.
According to the statement, the lecture title: Finding the Boundaries of the Possible, Venturing Beyond would be delivered by Mr. Chinenye Mba-Uzoukwu, Managing Partner, GrandCentral Africa while chairman of the event is Mr. Fola Adeola, Founder & chairman, FATE Foundation & Co-founder, Guaranty Trust Bank on January 17.
The university revealed that the convocation play title: Femi Osofisan’s “Ésu and the Vagabond Minstrels” by the Creative Arts Department same day.
On Wednesday, January 18, the university would confer postgraduate diploma, master degrees and Ph.D. in the School of Postgraduate Studies and award of Gold Medal at J. F. Ade. Ajayi Auditorium.
The thanksgiving service for the convocation ceremonies would hold Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Chapel of Christ Our Light, University of Lagos.
