Tech platform will help students win scholarships – Scholar

Must Read

A Nigerian scholar, Aanu Afolabi, has said the technological platform he created would provide scholarship opportunities for further studies for students and graduates across the continent.

Afolabi, in a statement made available to journalists in Lagos on Sunday, said with the platform, African students would no longer need to scan and filter through scholarship websites.

He said, “Through ScholarshipIQ, I hope to leverage technology to expand the efforts to reach millions of students across Africa to help them win from the millions of global scholarship opportunities which go unclaimed annually.

“The Artificial Intelligence-empowered website allows users to be matched with personalised scholarships from a growing database of over 1,000 fully and partially funded global scholarship opportunities and it was created as a one-stop hub for African students to seamlessly find and apply for global scholarship opportunities.”

The scholar added that the digital platform would provide each user with a personal dashboard that would guide them in the application processes.

“The network has all the deadlines and list of requirements for matched scholarships all in one place and each user would get a personal dashboard to track and submit scholarship applications while getting guidance from coaches who had gone through the scholarship processes and transited to their dream study destinations,” he added.
