The Super Eagles of Nigeria have dedicated their victory against the Palancras Negras of Angola at the ongoing AFCON tournament to late Samuel Okwaraji.

Okwaraji died 35 years ago when he collapsed on the pitch during a World Cup qualifying match between Nigeria and Angola in Lagos.

The Super Eagles defeated Angola 1-0 to qualify for the semi-finals on Friday. The goal was scored by Ademola Lookman.

“His passion for the game and sacrifice will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, Samuel Okwaraji, your legacy lives on.”
