Saraki condemns attack on CUPP spokesman

Must Read

A former President of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki, has condemned the attack by some gunmen on the home of the spokesperson of the Coalition of United Political Parties, Mr Ikenga Ugochinyere, and called on security operatives to unravel the perpetrators.

Saraki, in a statement from his media office on Sunday, noted that the situation looked like a targeted attack on the home of a candidate in the coming elections and described it as a sad commentary on the nation’s democracy.

He said, “I call on the security agencies in Imo State to ensure they get to the bottom of these attacks and unveil the perpetrators and their sponsors while also ensuring they face the wrath of the law.

“Such criminal acts, if not properly investigated and pursued conclusively, not only send wrong signals about the coming elections to the local and international communities, it also encouraged other evil minds to repeat such unlawful acts.”
