Police stop journalists from accessing polling unit of Wike’s candidate

Must Read

Some overzealous police officers resisted journalists from accessing the polling unit of Siminalayi Fubara, the anointed candidate of the Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike.

TVC reported that the policemen refused passage despite the proof of identity provided by the journalists.

According to the Television station, the officers noted that they were given directives to stop journalists.

However, the right decision prevailed after senior officers of the Police Force intervened.

The journalists were allowed to access the polling units in the Opobo area of Rivers State after they provided their accredited tags to the senior officers.

On getting to the polling units, the journalists observed that Fubara had voted and left the polling unit.

The governorship candidate of the PDP voted at Ward 5, unit 8 of Opobo/Nkoro LGA.
