Nine things to know as Big Brother Titans debuts

Must Read

The first season of Big Brother Titans begins on Sunday with viewers across the African continent set to be tuned in for this year’s edition of the reality TV show.

The show is an African version of the Banijay Boards Reality TV show which features contestants from South Africa and Nigeria to fuse the two countries’ versions of the Big Brother franchise with high expectations of thrilling entertainment.

As the countdown for the show starts, here are nine intriguing things to know about the show:

The MultiChoice, chief host of the entertainment show, has promised to give the winner of the show a grand prize of $100,000 with other housemates set to receive breathtaking consolation prizes both inside and outside the house.

The show will be hosting its debut version in Johannesburg, South Africa. Although the show will feature contestants from both Nigeria and South Africa.

Certainly, this will be one of the major things to watch out for in the show as the housemates will see things differently because of their different cultural backgrounds, making the whole show open to cultural diversification.

Big Brother Titans will begin showing on Sunday, January 15, at 8:00 pm on Africa Magic Family (DStv 154) channels, with M-Net and MultiChoice, also running a Big Brother Titans pop-up channel on Channel 198 for the duration of the season.

The Big Brother Titans eviction of housemates will be done every Sunday night like Big Brother Naija. During the week, Big Brother will announce who is up for eviction and on Sunday nights, the co-hosts will announce who will be walking out of the house.

Aside from the Sunday night evictions, Big Brother Titans will also retain the other dedicated programming events like the special Biggie diary sessions, Head of House games, Friday night parties and tasks.

Speaking of co-hosts, Big Brother Titans will have two co-hosts. Lawrence Maleka is the host from South Africa, and Ebuka Obi-Uchendu will represent Nigeria.

There will be no shower hour in order to clamp down the degree of nudity. MultiChoice earlier made a claim that  DStv subscribers didn’t like the shower hour.

The number of housemates has not been revealed yet, as there are insinuations that there will be ‘fake housemates’ too but stir up the expectations of the show.
